Say It Ain't So, Ed!

Today Ed Sprague, currently a baseball coach at University of the Pacific, admitted that he used andro (androstenedione, the steroid precursor made infamous by Mark McGwire in 1998) during the late 1990s. According to Sprague, he "might have" taken andro in 1996, the anomalous year in which he hit 36 home runs. Like McGwire two years later, when Sprague took andro in 1996 he broke neither the law nor any baseball rules, but it sure makes those 36 home runs look suspicious!
